Bainbridge Yoga House: Nurturing Yoga for Moms with Jen Breen
Class will combine breath work, yoga asanas and meditation as well as building a community of moms in which we can share together our journey in mothering and learning to self care. We will create ways to nurture ourselves – body, mind and spirit that will help us maintain holistic health for ourselves and our families.
Jen Breen grew up in Seattle with yogi minded parents so the beginning of a formal yoga practice in her early twenties was a natural one. Yoga felt like a coming home to that feeling of wholeness, groundedness and peace. Through the years, living in many different cities and countries, teaching elementary school and now raising four children of her own, yoga has been a mainstay in her life helping to create and to maintain optimal health and well being. She founded the first hot yoga studio in Austin, Texas in 1999 and now owns Bainbridge Yoga House. Her teachers include Bikram, Baron Baptiste, Bryan Kest, Cintra Brown, Sharon Land and her kids; Grace, Cal, Johnny and Kate.

Musikgarten
Children have a special sensitivity for music and movement in their early years. It is the perfect time to begin a child’s musical education, nurturing that natural love for songs and musical play. Musikgarten offers a coordinated, sequential curriculum to grow with your child through many years of music learning. Our classes are designed to meet children’s developmental needs, from birth through early childhood and beyond. We strive to enhance each child’s musical ability, and build a foundation for musicianship and musical literacy.
Family Music for Babies (ages newborn - 18 months)
Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving, singing, and playing simple instruments. Music play activities are designed to increase your child's curiosity about music, to develop listening skills and a sense of beat, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought.
Family Music for Toddlers (ages 15 months - 3 1/2 years)
Participate with your toddler in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening and playing simple instruments--while developing a strong musical bond with your child. Through activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement, your child's musical aptitude and listening abilities are enhanced and further developed.
Kaye Lubach is a certified Musikgarten educator who has dedicated many years to working with young children. In her teaching, she draws on training and experience in children’s theatre, creative movement, Kodaly music education and Orff-Schulwerk. Kaye is a percussionist, with a BA in Music and a PhD in Ethnomusicology. She is certified as a Montessori educator by the Association Montessori Internationale.
Tuition is $60 for an 8 week session with a $30 materials fee. The materials fee provides you with a CD and family activity guide for you to keep and use with your child at home.
