welcome
Peacock Family Center is a new “community of care under one roof” for children
birth to six years and their caregivers. We are a non profit 501 (c)(3) organization serving North Kitsap County families.  Our new home is at 305 Madison Avenue North, right behind the Big Star Diner in the heart of Winslow.

Our mission is to promote the healthy social and emotional development of children by providing nurturing childcare, open play and enrichment within a community of support for parents and caregivers.

2009-2010 Seed Campaign

In 2009, our founding year, Peacock Family Center was envisioned from what was previously Peacock Playtime, a post partum support group, a series of breakfasts for family support professionals and a North Kitsap needs assessment. In 2010, PFC will begin to deliver our breadth of services under one roof.

In 2009, we raised over $100,000 through direct public support, grants and program income. In addition, the Child Care Facility Fund administered by the Department of Commerce and Department of Early Learning in the State of Washington loaned us $40,000 to cover the materials cost for our new facility. And of course, we can boast 100% giving from our Board of Directors.

In 2010, we need to raise another $250,000. This will enable us to finish our eco-friendly build out, furnish our child care center and hire and train exceptional early childhood professionals. We need your support to make this happen.

From 2011 on, we have designed a financial model that is 90% self-funding for all core programs, including the ability to offer financial aid, tuition remission and reserved DSHS child care capacity.

The operating expenses that make up our core programming include in great part less than market rent, property tax exemption, living wages for our staff, therapeutic support in the form of resource and referral and lactation support, open access enrichment classes, and a healthy, safe, sustainable, fun and nurturing environment.

In 2010, we are seeking your support to help us create this comprehensive family support center.

This is a fundraiser to support family programs, low income child care assistance and enriched community outdoor playspace. We will be accepting donations made by cash, check or credit card at the event.
