Join our panel as we discuss and explore how we – parents, educators, and service providers – can support the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of our children during their critical early years, from birth up to five years old.
This workshop is brought to you by Peacock Family Services’ Partners in Early Learning educational series. Pre-registration recommended, as seating is limited.
As a pediatric therapist and a parent, Valerie Bautista believes in assessing and treating the whole child. Treatment sessions require an element of play, or a child’s “work”, to practice and learn motor skills as well as develop cognitive skills. A trained Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT) therapist, Valerie uses the NDT Approach for management and treatment of individuals with central nervous system (CNS) pathophysiology.
Maria Kuffel has been a school psychologist with the Bainbridge Island School District for almost nine years, and is also the Early Childhood Coordinator. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University in Psychology and a Masters in Education from Central Washington University. Her job involves identifying and evaluating developmental delays and disabilities, running social skills groups, and helping develop social and academic interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Frances Malone has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 20 years. She is the Nurse Practitioner for the Holly Ridge Center and has a private practice on Bainbridge Island. In her practice she sees all types of children, but specializes in those who are medically complex. She received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD from the University of Washington.
